Lincoln businesses now have a partner in helping them find the next great employee. Our local American Job Center (AJC) provider is ResCare Workforce Services, a national service provider dedicated to connecting talent to business.
The AJC is building partnerships between business and training to form a pipeline of qualified employees for skilled and in-demand careers.
They do this by offering free services for businesses that are in need of employees. Services include:
- Free job postings on NE Works, the statewide site used by all human service agencies
- Interview fairs with pre-screened job seekers
- Subsidies for businesses willing to train new employees into their positions
- Helping refugee job seekers have adequate language/math for jobs
“Every business faces challenges in hiring and training qualified workers,” said Michelle Olson, Project Director at ResCare’s American Job Center. “We connect unemployed and underemployed workers to employers with a need to fill open positions. We will help bridge the skills gap with funding for on-the job training, work experience, and occupational skills training.”
American Job Center, located in the Southeast Community College building downtown, can also help job seekers find their career with a visual-based interest assessment tool and then find career-wage positions available today in Lincoln or potential scholarships to get the certification needed to boost their career. They can also help with job applications and resumes. If you know someone ready to move from a low-mobility job to a career, you can refer them to the American Job Center at 402-858-8883.
ResCare is a member of the Lincoln Business Task Force which connects hiring businesses with the agencies and nonprofits that help Lincoln residents.
