JELO Program Connects Local Businesses With LPS Students

JELO Program Connects Local Businesses With LPS Students

Are you a business or organization with employment opportunities available for students? Lincoln Public Schools, EmployLNK, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development have come together to create a program for businesses to connect with the LPS student workforce.

Jobs and Extended Learning Opportunities, or JELO, is an online database where employers and students can connect on job shadowing, internship, apprenticeship and/or part-time and full-time employment openings.

The JELO online database is pre-loaded on Chromebook computers which all LPS students have access to and is also used as a teaching tool in the classroom. This equitable platform provides an open path for all students meet their required job shadow experience for graduation.

Connecting students to local companies is a win-win situation, students are exposed to the diversity of the Lincoln job market and employers build relationships with younger workers. If you are an employer or organization who would like to be included in the online JELO database, the submission form can be found here.
