Prosper Lincoln Vision & Mission

The vision of Prosper Lincoln is prosperity for all – meaning a stronger and growing community where everyone can reach their individual potential.

The mission of Prosper Lincoln is bringing people together to create community-based solutions.

History

In 2014, public and private funders and business leaders commissioned the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center to create a unique report that compiled, synthesized and analyzed key information about our community.

Called Lincoln Vital Signs, this report was used to spark conversations about what people in our city could do to ensure our kids are successful, our economy grows, and our community is strong and vibrant. The 2014 data demonstrated the strengths of our community. But it also elevated some challenges, challenges that may not have been understood previously. And as a result, the community-wide effort known as Prosper Lincoln was created.

More than 2,100 ideas to address the findings from the 2014 Vital Signs were collected from all sectors of our city – business, government, schools, and nonprofits to address Early Childhood, Employment Skills and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

By 2019, the focus areas of Prosper Lincoln were expanded to include Early Childhood, Innovative Workforce, Affordable Housing. Strong Neighborhoods and Civic Investments.

The focus areas for the third phase of Prosper Lincoln are Connections, Housing and Early Childhood.
